Welcome to the Monday Afternoon ‘Drop In’

Fancy a cup of tea and a chat?  Would you like to meet new friends in the area?  Then why don’t you come along to our Monday afternoon drop in at St Mary’s Community Centre, Rylands Road.  There is a friendly atmosphere, a cup of tea and usually a game of bingo, cards or a quiz going on somewhere.

It is from 2-4pm every Monday.  You are welcome to come along and if you are coming for the first time and would like someone to meet you there, do let us know and we will arrange it. The minibus runs, so if you need that service just contact us.

Trips Out

We like to get out and about, visit places and have fun together. There are various trips out to such varied places as beautiful gardens such as Kearsney Abbey and to tea rooms for a cream tea. These trips tend to take place when the weather is better; from April to September.  If you would like information about the next trip, please call Derek Sorrell on 01233 631533 or email

Getting Around

We are very blessed to have a minibus! It was purchased in December 2003 with money bequethed to us by Elizabeth Hill and has proved to be a wonderful asset, as we are a large congregation with some unable to attend services or church events without the aid of transport.

It is used regularly on Sunday morning to transport people to our regular services and the Drop in at the St.Mary’s Community Centre every Monday afternoon. Many other events which place in our church and the parish also benefit greatly by its availability.

If you would like the minibus to collect you for a Sunday service, drop-in or any other church event for which the bus is running, please call Derek Sorrell on 01233 631533 or email

We are extremely grateful to the team of 15
